THE sentimental prince of Philippine music Myrus and foremost Filipino boy band 1:43 promise to set hearts swooning with romantic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) in a back-to-back concert titled “Pop Heartthrobs” on April 25, 7PM at the Metro Bar in West Avenue, Quezon City.
Presented by CASA Quick & Easy Cellophane, “Pop Heartthrobs” also serves as the launch of the second album of Myrus and a preview to 1:43’s
latest single. The young balladeer and the boy band last year
collaborated on the song “Pag-ibig Na Kaya?” (PiNK), the carrier single
of 1:43’s debut album titled “Time for Love.”
Gold Record singer-composer Myrus
will perform his monster radio and YouTube hit “Pusong Lito” and a few
original tracks from his upcoming album. “Pusong Lito” is gaining a
great deal of following online; it also became No. 1 in many radio
stations in Greater Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Lucena, Cagayan de Oro,
and Cotabato. The song’s rise to popularity was aided by its initial
release in over 420 Mang Inasal stores, as part of the Mang Inasal Mang Aawit Music Advocacy Campaign.
“I will showcase my range as a
performer… I will try comedy for the first time but will close the show
with my signature sentimental OPM music,” says Myrus, an Awit Awards nominee for Best New Male Recording Artist and the head of an OPM program called “Tunog Natin.”
“I am excited to share to our audience
my works as a composer. Many didn’t know that I’ve been writing songs
now for myself and other artists like 1:43, Arnee Hidalgo, and Mcoy
Fundales and Barbie Almalbis. My upcoming album is made up of all my
original compositions!” Myrus adds.
Meanwhile, the country’s foremost boy
band 1:43 is proving that their talent and hard work have transcended
the fad behind their Asian look. The group composed of Anjo
Resurreccion, Gold Aquino, Kim Nicolas, and Yuki Sakamoto has lured the
youth back to OPM with their radio and YouTube hit song “Sa Isang Sulyap
Mo.”
Now with over 265,000 views in YouTube,
“Sa Isang Sulyap Mo” brought 1:43 to new heights: the song was declared
the No. 1 song of various radio stations and landing on the exclusive
OPM MYX Countdown. The song is likewise a part of the Mang Inasal Mang
Aawit Music Advocacy Campaign and was composed by Myrus.
“We didn’t expect such a strong
acceptance for our latest single ‘Sa Isang Sulyap Mo!’ We were shocked
to see the exponential growth of its views in Youtube and our placement
in the OPM MYX Countdown was just so fulfilling!” exclaims Yuki.
“We promise our fans a wonderful and memorable show. They should not miss this concert,” adds Yuki.
“Pop Heartthrob” likewise features one
of the most talented rock bands today, Letter Day Story, as well as pop
jazz and RnB artist Arnee Hidalgo. The concert is supported by Quickfix,
F’g Freshgear, Mendez Medical Clinic and BSkin BB Cream.
